Type - System Function
Description: This function records and updates the status of amounts owed to other entities as a result of the formal acceptance/receipt of goods or services by the Department of Defense. Upon acceptance/receipt the liability is accrued; upon request for payment the liability is reclassified as a payable; upon the triggering of events associated with payment terms the payable is modified; and upon payment to a liability, the liability is reduced or extinguished. This function provides liability pro forma entries to the general ledger for posting.
