Quadrennial Defense Review

Type - ICOM Arrow
Description: A comprehensive examination of America’s defense needs to include potential threats, strategy, force structure, readiness posture, military modernization programs, defense infrastructure, and information operations and intelligence that is conducted by law every 4 years at the beginning of a new administration. The Quadrennial Defense Review is strategy-driven, not budget-driven, so that the decision makers can assess the risk of not having the desired amount of resources to meet the requirements.
