Description
Military Unit Identifier is the Uniformed Service unique value that identifies a unit within a DoD Military Service's Force Structure.

Usage
Military Unit Identifier is used to document the Uniformed Service unique value that identifies a unit within a DoD Military Service's Force Structure. Military Unit Identifier is commonly referred to as the Unit Identification Code (UIC) for the Department of the Army and Department of the Navy, the Personnel Accounting System (PAS) for the Department of the Air Force, and the Reporting Unit Code (RUC) for the Marine Corps.

Military Unit Identifier is also used in DoD reporting of personnel and pay actions for DoD Military Service members.
