The Secretary concerned may allow a member to request Voluntary Separation Pay if each of the following is true:
- The member has served on Active Duty or Full-time National Guard Duty for more than six years but less than twenty years.
- The member has served at least five years of continuous Active Duty or Full-time National Guard Duty immediately preceding the date of separation from Active Duty.
- The member requests separation from Active Duty or Full-time National Guard Duty.
- The member has not been approved for payment of Voluntary Separation Incentive.
- The member is not immediately eligible for retired or retainer pay upon separation.
- The member has completed an initial term of obligated service.
- The member meets other requirements as prescribed by the Secretary concerned. |
