The Secretary concerned must consider an enlisted member eligible for Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP) if each of the following is true:
- The member is eligible for Basic Pay.
- One of the following is true:
- The member is on Active Duty.
- The member is a Reserve Component member performing Inactive Duty for Training.
- The member is in pay grade E-3 or higher.
- The member has completed the special schooling or equivalent on-the-job training required for qualification in the special duty assignment.
- The member is certified as qualified for and is actually serving in an authorized duty assignment designated for award of SDAP.
- The member is not in any of the following statuses:
- Patient status (including Convalescent Leave)
- Temporary Duty
- detailed to duty not requiring use of skills on which SDAP is based |
