The Secretary concerned must consider an enlisted member eligible for Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP) for the first twelve months of hospitalization (including Convalescent Leave) if each of the following is true:
- The member is eligible for Basic Pay.
- The member is on Active Duty.
- The member is serving in pay grade E-3 or higher.
- The member has completed the special schooling or equivalent on-the-job training required for qualification in the special duty assignment.
- The member is certified by the Secretary concerned as qualified for an authorized position in a duty assignment designated for award of special duty assignment pay.
- The member is Hospitalized or on Convalescent Leave.
- The member is expected to return to a duty assignment for which the member is qualified for, and authorized to receive, SDAP.
- The member was eligible for SDAP on the effective date the member's duty status was changed to Hospitalized or Convalescent leave. |
