The Secretary concerned may defer, for not more than four months, the involuntary discharge of a regular warrant officer when, because of unavoidable circumstances, evaluation of the warrant officer's physical condition and determination of the officer's entitlement to retirement or separation for physical disability requires hospitalization or medical observation that cannot be completed before the date the warrant officer would otherwise be required to separate. |
