The Secretary concerned may, under regulations prescribed by the Secretary, separate a commissioned officer for substandard performance of duty when the officer is found to be substandard in at least one of the following:
- performance of duty
- efficiency
- leadership
- response to training, in that performance of duties in the officer's assigned specialty, is unsatisfactory
- attitude or character
- maintenance of satisfactory progress while in an active status skills awarding program |
