The Service concerned must consider a member eligible for Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA) if each of the following is true:
- The member is serving on Active Duty.
- The member is eligible for Basic Allowance for Subsistence.
- At least one person in the household of the member is a military dependent.
- The income of the member (military member income), together with the income of the rest of the household (household income), if any, of that member, is within 130 percent of the poverty line as determined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) under sections 2012 and 2014 (c) of Title 7, United States Code.
- The member has applied and been certified to receive the FSSA payment. |
