The Secretary concerned must consider a member eligible for Diving Duty Pay for the first thirty days of temporary additional duty (TAD) or temporary duty (TDY) other than diving duty if each of the following is true:
- The member is on TAD or TDY other than diving duty.
- The member is eligible for Basic Pay.
- The member is assigned by orders to diving duty at the permanent duty station (PDS).
- The member meets qualifications for diving duty as required by the Secretary concerned.
- The member is required to maintain proficiency as a diver by frequent and regular dives.
- The member's diving qualifications have not lapsed.
- One of the following is true:
- The member actually performs diving duty while serving in an assignment for which diving is a primary duty.
- The member meets the requirements to maintain proficiency while serving in an assignment that includes diving duty other than as a primary duty.
- The member is not in any of the following statuses:
- Leave Awaiting Orders as a Result of Disability Proceedings
- Educational Leave of Absence |
