A member of the Ready Reserve on Active Duty for thirty days or less must be considered to have a duty related impairment when the impairment was the proximate result of or was incurred in line of duty, after September 23, 1996 and if at least one of the following is true:
- The member was performing Active Duty or Inactive Duty Training (IDT).
- The member was traveling directly to or from the place at which the Active Duty or IDT is performed.
- The member's injury, illness or disease was incurred or aggravated while remaining overnight between successive periods for purposes of IDT at or in the vicinity of the site of the IDT if the site was outside reasonable commuting distance of the member's residence. |
