The Secretary concerned must consider a member eligible for Career Sea Pay if each of the following is true:
- The member is eligible for Basic Pay.
- The member is assigned to Sea Duty.
- The member is in pay grade O-6 or below.
- The member meets the Service-specific requirements designated by the Secretary concerned.
- The member is not en route to or from ships or onboard a ship for transportation.
- The member is not in any of the following statuses:
- leave
- suspended or removed from duty
- confined awaiting trial by court-martial
- on temporary duty ashore
- temporarily based ashore
- hospitalized ashore |
