Active Duty Obligated Service Period is the duration of the period of time a DoD Military Service member must serve on continuous Active Duty to fulfill an obligation. This period may be recorded as a combination of days, weeks, months, and years.
Usage
Active Duty Obligated Service Period is defined within the service contract that establishes the obligation of the DoD Military Service member and is used to support determinations of eligibility for certain pays and incentives and eligibility for enrollment in the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) program. If the Active Duty Obligated Service Period is not fulfilled, this is used to support the recoupment of any prepaid bonuses. |
