A character string that identifies the parent organization of a public or private organizational entity that supports a given mission, function, business objective or other criteria. The creation of an Organization Unique Identifier (OUID), a unique, simple and nonintelligent (containing no embedded information or smart codes) identifier will support standardized unique identification of organizations as required by the Department of Defense. This identifier will be used to identify all organizations within the DOD and non-DOD organizations to include, but not limited to, U.S. and foreign federal, civil and commercial entities. |
