Every Defense Business System needs a Standards Viewpoint that is the set of rules
governing the arrangement, interaction, and interdependence of parts or elements
of the architectural description. Its purpose is to ensure that a solution satisfies
a specified set of operational or capability requirements.
Current DoD guidance requires the Technical Standards portions of models be produced
from the DoD Information Technology Standards Repository (DISR) to determine the minimum
set of standards and guidelines for the acquisition of all DoD systems that produce,
use, or exchange information.
DoD Information Technology Standards Repository (DISR) is available at https://gtg.csd.disa.mil/disr. Some systems require Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and the National Security Agency (NSA) guides which are used for the configuration standards for DoD IA and IA-enabled devices/systems. STIGS and the NSA guides can be found at http://iase.disa.mil/stigs/Pages/index.aspx. |
