Description: The Fund Balance with Treasury (FBWT) represents the money an agency can spend on future authorized transactions. Agencies record transactions that increase and decrease their FBWT to U.S. SGL account 1010 in their general ledger. Appropriation warrants, non-expenditure transfers, collections, and disbursements are some of the transactions that impact an agency's FBWT.
Treasury requires that agencies reconcile their FBWT accounts regularly. RFCs, Disbursing Offices, and other depositaries provide Treasury with receipt and disbursement activity of the government. A comparison of this receipt and disbursement activity with agency records ensures the integrity and accuracy of internal and government wide financial report data.
