Future Enterprise Standards
DoD Unit of Measure Standardization
On June 9, 2009, the BECCM COI Chair, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the DoD Business Mission Area chartered a working group to facilitate an Enterprise approach for Unit of Measure (UoM) to ensure an efficient, effective, and interoperable information exchange environment. This working group (WG) consolidated all of the current sources of UoM domain values across the DoD Enterprise and harmonized the Logistics Unit of Issue, Procurement Data Standard, Real Property, Finance, Human Resources, and Transportation and Distribution UoM domain values to include the industry standard Accredited Services Committee (ASC X12) and the International Standards Organization (ISO 31/80000).

FIPS 10-4 will be "retired" from DOD Information Technology Standards Registry (DISR) and Intelligence Community Standards Registry (ICSR) in December 2012.

DISA as DOD Executive Agent for IT established a Country Codes Tiger Team co-chaired by DISA and NGA to manage DOD and IC migration from FIPS 10-4 to ISO 3166.
