DoD Unit of Measure Standardization

The UoM Data Standard moves DoD forward to transition away from the Legacy DoD Codes for Unit of Issue (UoI) and Unit of Measure to enable cross-domain interoperability for information exchanges and to support E2E cross-functional alignment for system implementation
Current Initiatives:
- Work with ERPs and AISs to ensure system changes are in place to be compliant to BEA
- DCMO will sponsor an update to the Federal Logistics Information Service (FLIS) Portfolio Data Warehouse (FPDW) to include a UoM/UoI Master table for the business term and X12 Code for systems to consume as a part of this transformation (SOA Publish/Subscribe service)
- A UoM CONOPS will be developed to ensure configuration management going forward
- Establish BEA as DoD Reference Master Data for DoD Business Mission Area
